John Cena has officially announced his retirement from WWE, with his final match slated for WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas in 2025.

The announcement came during WWE’s Money in the Bank event on July 6 in Toronto, where Cena made a surprise appearance. Sporting a t-shirt emblazoned with “The Last Time is Now,” the 16-time World Heavyweight Champion revealed his plans for a farewell tour.

Cena addressed the enthusiastic crowd, saying, “Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE.” He reflected on his connection to Toronto, and more broadly, to Canadian fans. “I want to talk about Toronto. Matter of fact, I want to talk about Canada. Matter of fact, I want to talk about Canadians,” he said, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support throughout his career.

Cena’s farewell tour will include appearances at several upcoming premium live events, such as the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Monday Night Raw, which is set to move from the USA Network to Netflix in 2025.

He promised to provide further details about his future with WWE during the Money in the Bank post-show press conference, marking the beginning of the end for one of wrestling’s most iconic figures.
