Get ready for the return of chaos with the newly released trailer for Joker: Folie À Deux, the highly anticipated sequel to 2019’s Joker. Joaquin Phoenix reprises his Oscar-winning role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, joined by Lady Gaga (Stefani Germanotta). The cast also includes Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener, with Zazie Beetz returning as Sophie Dumond.
Set in Arkham Asylum, the film explores Arthur Fleck’s dual identity struggle while awaiting trial. Amidst the turmoil, he discovers love and the music within him. Directed by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver, the film is produced by Phillips, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, and Joseph Garner. Lady Gaga serves as the music consultant.
Phillips’ Joker team returns, featuring Lawrence Sher, Mark Friedberg, Jeff Groth, and Hildur Guðnadóttir. New additions include costume designer Arianne Phillips. Joker: Folie À Deux premieres in U.S. theaters on October 4, 2024, and internationally on October 2, 2024.
