NetherRealm Studios has exciting news for Mortal Kombat fans! Unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, Mortal Kombat 1’s next expansion, “Khaos Reigns,” is set to launch on September 24, 2024, bringing a slew of new content. This add-on will introduce six new characters, fresh story content, and the return of the iconic finishing move, the Animality.

Terminator T-1000 (from Terminator 2: Judgment Day)
Ghostface (from Scream)
Conan the Barbarian
Cyrax, Sektor, and Noob Saibot will be available at launch, with the guest fighters to follow later. Fans will be thrilled to know that Roger L. Jackson and Robert Patrick will reprise their roles as Ghostface and T-1000, respectively.
Animalities, a beloved finishing move from Mortal Kombat 3, will make a grand return. These moves involve characters transforming into animals and executing their foes in creative ways. During the panel, fans were treated to glimpses of Mileena turning into a praying mantis and Rain morphing into a puffer fish, with other transformations teased in the trailer.
The new storyline will focus on the chaotic villain Havok and his plans to unleash mayhem in the NetherRealm, even reviving Sub-Zero as Noob Saibot. The “Khaos Reigns” expansion is priced at $49.99 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, and $39.99 for the Nintendo Switch.
