Lucasfilm’s Star Wars series The Acolyte has been officially canceled by Disney, with no plans to continue the story. This decision comes just over a month after the eight-episode first season concluded its run on Disney+. The series, created by Lesley Headland, had garnered mixed reactions, despite a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

While The Acolyte started strong, pulling in 4.8 million views on its first day and reaching 11.1 million views within five days, it struggled to maintain its momentum. The viewership steadily declined, with the season finale clocking just 335 million minutes, the lowest for any Star Wars series finale. Despite a push from fans using the hashtag #RenewTheAcolyte, Disney ultimately decided not to renew the series, which cost over $100 million per season to produce.
