Prime Video’s highly anticipated live-action Spider-Noir series officially began filming this week, and fans got their first look at star Nicolas Cage on set. Cage, dressed in 1930s attire, was spotted shooting a scene and holding a Daily Bugle newspaper prop with the headline: “Silvermane Survives in Skivvies.” This seems to confirm earlier rumors that Silvio Manfredi, aka Silvermane, will play a significant role in the series as a primary villain, though this has yet to be officially confirmed.

The show follows an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, grappling with his past life as the city’s only superhero. While fans haven’t seen Cage in full Spider-Man Noir costume yet, it’s expected that the look will only add a mask to his current outfit. Alongside Cage, the cast includes Brendan Gleeson, Lamorne Morris, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston. Jun Li is set to play Wraith, while Gleeson is rumored to portray Silvermane.

The series is written and executive produced by Oren Uziel, with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal also serving as executive producers. Fans are eager to see how Cage brings this gritty version of Spider-Man to life and how other villains like Sandman might fit into the story. Cage is also expected to reprise his role in the animated Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Stay tuned for more updates as filming continues!
