Magic: The Gathering is continuing its trend of high-profile collaborations, following in the footsteps of crossovers with The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, and Fallout. Now, the game is joining forces with Square Enix for an exciting partnership with the Final Fantasy series.
In a recent video announcement, Square Enix producer Shoichi Ichikawa and Wizards of the Coast product architect Zakeel Gordon teased what fans can expect from this collab. Spanning characters from the first Final Fantasy game all the way to Final Fantasy XVI, this set promises to deliver some iconic faces from the franchise. Featured characters include Terra (Final Fantasy VI), Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII), Noctis (Final Fantasy XV), and Cloud (Final Fantasy VII). Monsters like behemoths and chocobos will also make their appearance.

One of the most exciting aspects of the collaboration is that it will include the largest collection of Final Fantasy artwork ever seen in a single game. This special set is slated to release on June 13, 2025, and is sure to thrill fans of both franchises.
