The iconic 2001 horror flick, “Thirteen Ghosts,” has etched its place in pop culture’s annals for decades. Dark Castle Entertainment is currently in the process of pitching a television adaptation of the movie to Sony Pictures Television.

It’s important to note that the series hasn’t received official approval as of now. However, conceptual visuals have emerged, shared by Patrick Mediate and Aaron McLane via Dread Central. Enthusiasts can glimpse below at teaser posters, ghost concepts, a page outlining “spectral viewers” (the special glasses necessary to perceive ghosts), and an array of exciting designs.

The pitch proposes a “thirteen-episode run with an ensemble cast, wherein each episode delves into the origins of a distinct ghost.” The provided logline offers further insight:

“Drawing from worldwide ghost stories, this reimagined ’13 Ghosts’ offers a global array of supernatural tales. The stylistic appearance and ambiance of each ghost story within every episode will be distinct, shaped by the individual director’s influence. These ghost vignettes will stand out, lending a unique thematic backdrop to each installment.”

The movie and its potential TV rendition incorporate “spectral viewers.” These might contribute to a viral marketing aspect for the show, potentially encompassing “a proposed AR component.” If realized, this feature would allow viewers to download an app, witnessing additional on-screen and at-home ghosts as the series unfolds.

Among the talents connected to the series are Patrick Mediate, Aaron McLane, and Ashley Robinson, co-producer of “Fear the Walking Dead.”
