Fans of both Magic: The Gathering and Marvel’s Spider-Man have something spectacular to look forward to this fall. At the International Toy Fair in New York, Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro announced an exciting new collaboration that will bring the Spider-Verse into the world of Magic: The Gathering. Set to launch globally on September 26, 2025, this highly anticipated crossover will introduce a lineup of iconic heroes and villains from Marvel’s web-slinging universe into Magic’s signature gameplay.
Spider-Man himself will take center stage, but the set is far from limited to just Peter Parker. Characters from across the Spider-Verse will make their way onto collectible cards, including fan-favorites like Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen. Of course, no Spider-Man story would be complete without his rogues’ gallery, and the new set promises to feature legendary villains such as Venom, Green Goblin, and Doctor Octopus.
While the full list of characters and card mechanics has yet to be revealed, fans can expect a variety of products to accompany the launch. The set will include standard Play Boosters and Collector Boosters, as well as a Starter Bundle, Pre-Release Pack, and Welcome Decks. A special Scene Bundle is also on the way, featuring three Play Boosters and six traditional foil scene cards, along with a unique stand to display them in all their glory.
“This collaboration has been years in the making,” Hasbro shared in their announcement. “Magic brings its signature style and gameplay to the world of Spider-Man, letting tabletop fans live out the web-slinger’s most epic battles.” With stunning packaging art revealed at the event, the crossover is shaping up to be a must-have for both Magic enthusiasts and Marvel collectors alike.
With Magic: The Gathering’s history of unforgettable crossovers, from The Lord of the Rings to Doctor Who, bringing Spider-Man into the fold feels like a natural evolution.
