Marvel Comics is set to conclude the Venom War crossover event with a major twist: the crowning of a new “one true Venom.” However, in a surprising turn, the identity of this new host will remain a mystery even after the event ends. Starting in December, writer Al Ewing and artist Carlos Gómez will launch All-New Venom, featuring one of four well-known Marvel characters as the new symbiote host.

Interestingly, neither Eddie nor Dylan Brock—longtime Venom hosts—will be taking on the symbiote. Instead, Marvel has teased four potential candidates: Luke Cage, Rick Jones, Robbie Robertson, or Madame Masque. Each brings a unique background to the table, with clues pointing in different directions. Robbie Robertson, a key Spider-Man ally, could finally step into a super-powered role. The gold elements in the new suit design might hint at Luke Cage or Madame Masque, while Rick Jones, a character with a history of transformations, remains a wildcard.

This new storyline shifts away from the cosmic setting of Ewing’s previous Venom work, focusing on a more grounded narrative. With Dylan Brock leading the investigation into the new Venom, fans are left eagerly anticipating what’s next for the Brock family. All-New Venom #1 arrives in December.
