NBA 2K25 has been officially announced by 2K, with the game set to release on September 6. The publisher also disclosed details about the game’s editions, cover athletes, and some initial gameplay information.

This year’s cover athletes include reigning NBA Champion Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, who will grace the Standard Edition. Tatum will also share the cover of the All-Star Edition with A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, a two-time WNBA MVP and back-to-back WNBA Champion. Additionally, Wilson will be featured on the cover of the WNBA Edition. NBA legend Vince Carter will appear on the Hall of Fame Edition cover.

Last year, NBA 2K24 featured the late Kobe Bryant on its Kobe Bryant and Black Mamba Editions, while Sabrina Ionescu was the cover athlete for the WNBA Edition.
This year’s variety in cover athletes highlights 2K’s effort to represent both current champions and legends of the sport. NBA 2K25 promises exciting gameplay improvements and a variety of editions to cater to basketball fans.
Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
