Dust off your trench coats and dim the lights—Spider-Noir is swinging into action, and it’s bringing a hard-boiled twist to the Spider-Verse. Prime Video and MGM+ have unveiled the first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action series Spider-Noir, starring none other than Nicolas Cage in the title role. The series is set to premiere in 2026, and if the first look is anything to go by, this noir-tinged Spider-Man is unlike anything we’ve seen before.
Set in 1930s New York, Spider-Noir follows an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator who once fought crime as the city’s lone masked hero. Now, haunted by his past and navigating a city steeped in shadows, he’s pulled back into a world of violence and secrets. Cage, who previously voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, brings his signature gravitas and grit to this live-action reinvention.
The cast is equally stacked, with Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, and Jack Huston among the ensemble. Behind the camera, Emmy winner Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) directs the first episodes, while Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot steer the series as showrunners. Spider-Verse architects Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Amy Pascal also return to shape the story.
From the moody visuals to the smoky saxophone-laced score teased in the trailer, Spider-Noirpromises to be a stylish, emotionally rich departure from traditional superhero fare—part detective drama, part pulp superhero noir.
In a sea of multiverse chaos, this series might just offer the most grounded Spider-Man story yet. Get ready—Cage is coming back to spin a darker web in 2026.
