Nintendo has just released an in-depth, five-minute trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom titled “Traversing Hyrule.” The trailer offers fans a closer look at some of the key locations in the game, including Hyrule Castle, Castle Town, and various regions like Gerudo Desert, Jabul Waters, Eldin Volcano, and Faron Wetlands.
Players can utilize fast travel points, known as Waypoints, to navigate the expansive world quickly, though these must be unlocked by reaching each location naturally. Horses can also be summoned for faster travel once the player unlocks the carrot echo.
Echoes of Wisdom integrates mechanics from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Players can create smoothies with various effects by mixing ingredients and dress Zelda in different outfits for unique benefits. The game also introduces new abilities for Zelda’s companion, Tri. These include Bind, which allows Zelda to manipulate objects, and Reverse Bind, which lets her mimic the movement of objects.
Set to release on September 26, Echoes of Wisdom promises innovative gameplay styles using Zelda’s unique skills and significant variation between playthroughs. Interestingly, the game’s ESRB rating has hinted that Link will be a playable character, sparking much speculation about its placement in the Zelda timeline.
