Players of the Pokémon TCG are eagerly anticipating the release of the upcoming Scarlet & Violet set, Stellar Crown, which is scheduled to drop later this year. This set continues the trend of introducing new Tera Pokémon, a type first seen in the initial Scarlet & Violet set. Stellar Crown focuses on the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos and its allies, which will receive Stellar Tera Pokémon ex versions. Additionally, the set will feature more new ACE SPEC cards, continuing a popular trend from recent expansions.

Release Date: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown will hit shelves on September 13, 2024. Players eager to try out the new cards can do so a day early via Pokémon TCG Live. Prerelease tournaments will start on August 31, giving players a chance to get their hands on cards up to two weeks ahead of the official release.

Regulation Mark: The Stellar Crown cards will carry a regulation mark G, making them legal in the Standard format until they rotate out in 2026. These cards will also remain legal for a longer period in the Extended format, ensuring their viability for various play styles and formats.

Stellar Crown’s New Additions: While the full card list hasn’t been released yet, some exciting cards have been previewed. The set will introduce four new Stellar Tera Pokémon ex cards for Terapagos, Cinderace, Galvantula, and Lapras. An ex card for Hydrapple has also been spoiled, and more regular ex cards are expected. Notably, the set will feature the first-ever Archulodon card in the TCG. Promotional cards included in certain booster packs available at big-box stores will feature Horsea or Porygon2 in single blister packs, and Latias or Tinkaton in three-pack blisters. Elite Trainer Boxes will include a full-art promotional version of Noctowl.

Six different products have been previewed for Stellar Crown:

Booster Packs: These can be bought individually or in a booster display containing 36 packs. Each booster pack contains 10 cards and one basic Energy card.

Booster Bundles: These come with six packs of Stellar Crown, ideal for players who want to buy sealed booster packs in bulk but don’t need a full box of 36.

Elite Trainer Boxes: Available in a standard version and a Pokémon Center version. The standard Elite Trainer Box comes with nine Stellar Crown booster packs, a player’s guide, 65 card sleeves, 45 Energy cards, a six-sided die, six damage counter dice, a themed coin, and a promotional full-art version of Noctowl. The Pokémon Center version includes two additional packs and an extra Noctowl with a special Pokémon Center logo.

Check-lane Blister Packs: These contain one booster pack, a promotional card, and a Pokémon coin.

Check-lane Three-Pack Blisters: These include three booster packs, a promotional card, and a Pokémon coin.

As of now, Pokémon Stellar Crown is not the next set to release for the TCG. Shrouded Fable will be released on August 2, 2024. Players can expect more details about Stellar Crown once Shrouded Fable is fully released. Given the flexibility to cancel pre-orders from Pokémon Center, players can secure their orders early and decide later if the set’s cards suit their needs.

Pokémon TCG players can look forward to several more years of Scarlet & Violet releases if the game maintains its current release pattern. Stellar Crown promises to bring exciting new cards, especially with its Stellar Tera Pokémon and ACE SPEC Trainer cards, all accompanied by stunning artwork.
