Post Malone has acquired the exceptional Magic: The Gathering Card known as “The One Ring” from Lord of the Rings, a unique piece with an appraised value of $2 million.

Previously undisclosed, the possessor of The One Ring card emerged when a social media user named Brook Trafton shared a video featuring a meeting with Post Malone, during which the card was sold. In the brief 13-second clip, the rapper can be seen examining the card before decisively stating, “Yeah, I’ll take it.” Although the exact sum Post Malone paid remains undisclosed, given that Dave and Adam’s Card World, a trading card buying and collecting company, was willing to offer $2 million, the transaction likely involved a substantial and transformative amount.

Trafton is visibly moved, breaking down in tears as Post Malone agrees to acquire the card, and the two share a heartfelt hug before posing for a photograph. Trafton shared on Instagram, “When I found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was Post Malone. I have played [Magic: The Gathering] since I was a kid, and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life-changing. I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do.”

While the definitive sales figure is pending, The One Ring has likely attained the title of the highest-selling Magic: The Gathering and trading card of all time, surpassing the previous record held by a $540,000 Black Lotus.

Wizards of the Coast announced the Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set in August 2021, and it was finally unveiled in June 2023. IGN unveiled the distinctive One Ring card, which was swiftly discovered on June 30.
