Konami has finally unveiled a haunting first look at Silent Hill f, the next chapter in its iconic psychological horror franchise. This long-awaited installment takes the series to an entirely new setting — the eerie, fog-covered town of Ebisugaoka, Japan, during the 1960s. While Silent Hill f is a standalone entry in the series, it brings with it the signature psychological terror, unsettling creatures, and cryptic mysteries fans have come to expect.

The newly released cinematic trailer introduces players to Shimizu Hinako, a young student whose peaceful hometown transforms into a nightmarish hellscape cloaked in an all-consuming fog. With grotesque monsters lurking in every corner, Hinako must confront her own fears, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover the grim truth behind Ebisugaoka’s descent into horror. Konami teases a central question: “Will Hinako embrace the beauty hidden within terror, or succumb to the madness that lies ahead?”

Although the trailer focuses more on setting the mood than revealing gameplay, it does offer a disturbing glimpse of the game’s monsters — terrifying creations born from the mind of Japanese artist Kera. The atmosphere is as suffocating and unnerving as ever, heightened by a return to psychological horror roots and the haunting score composed by series veteran Akira Yamaoka.

Silent Hill f marks a bold shift for the franchise, moving away from the familiar streets of Silent Hill, USA, and grounding its horror in Japanese folklore and aesthetics. The story, penned by acclaimed writer Ryukishi07 — best known for the When They Cry series — promises an emotional and mind-bending narrative filled with dread and mystery. Development is being handled by NeoBards Entertainment, a studio familiar with horror, having contributed to several Resident Evil remakes.

While specific gameplay elements remain under wraps, Konami confirmed Silent Hill f is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. There’s no release date yet, but the reveal alone has reignited excitement after a two-year silence following the game’s initial announcement.

This game is one of several projects Konami has lined up for the franchise’s revival, including the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill: Townfall. For now, though, Silent Hill f promises a fresh take on terror — one drenched in fog, fear, and floral horror — and fans will be watching closely to see what secrets lie in the mist.
